My deck is like a box of Raisin Bran. Every match consists of two scoops. My deck is so good, Kamahl/Shower decks pay it protection money. My deck is so amazing, it entered itself in a flight and already won me a box. It has a deck of its own that is better than yours. Hollywood children go to bed at night and pray to God, Steven Spielberg, and my deck…and not in that order.

One-seventy five! Hello folks, and welcome to the 175th anniversary of my happy column. If I had the gumption, I’d look up what the special word for 175th anniversary is. However, I’d rather write about Magic than spend five minutes researching a word I’ll never use again. Besides, I used “gumption” in a sentence… I don’t think it’ll get much better than that.
…An example I might give today is of Living Airship or Scarwood Bandits. There is nothing wrong with these cards…
…Ideally you can sacrifice them immediately and create something of a one-sided Living Death. This is the kind of…

I think I’ve been pretty clear all along in this experiment that I never intended the deck to be played in tournaments. That said, several people have been inspired to bring either my version or their own cog deck to FNM or even Pro Tour Qualifiers. Crazy. Even crazier, some of the results have been encouraging, and enough people have e-mailed me asking my thoughts concerning a sideboard that it feels unavoidable to chime in on the topic.

I had been planning to make my”Road to States 2002″ articles a huge, expansive series of articles covering every possible archetype and different permutations of decks. Unfortunately, when one is working three different jobs and trying to actually test for States, that does seem to cut into one’s writing time…. So I’ll try to make up for it with a marginally entertaining tournament report.

Are you a player that lets the heart override the head? Never fear. Craig Jones can help.
